MOVING QUOTE

Request your moving quote

Where are you moving from and to? Enter both locations, then describe your household in the Smoover questionnaire. Have your furniture, boxes, preferred dates and access details ready. These form the basis of your personal moving quote.

From enquiry to quote

After you enter the locations, the Smoover questionnaire opens. Add your contact details and information about the move. If quantities or other details are uncertain, state what is confirmed and what still needs checking.

Before accepting the quote, check that it includes all the furniture, both addresses and the requested jobs. Sending an enquiry does not replace this review.

Have these details ready

You do not need to convert floor area into a transport volume. Describe what needs moving and how it will get from your old home into the new one.

  • Addresses and dates: pickup, destination, possible dates and fixed handovers.
  • Inventory: furniture by room, estimated boxes, cellar contents and unusual items.
  • Access: floors, lifts, steps, narrow doors and carrying distances at both properties.
  • Services: transport, requested packing, dismantling and assembly, plus work you will do yourself.
  • Open questions: missing measurements, uncertain loading access or a destination address still to be confirmed.

How to compare two moving quotes

Put your inventory next to both quotes and check each job. Who packs the boxes? Who dismantles the wardrobe? Is assembly at the destination included? Which floors and carrying distances are assumed? The totals are meaningfully comparable only when the scope matches.

If a task is missing from the description, ask for written clarification. A broad description such as “move included” does not confirm that your particular requirements are covered.

Check your offer before accepting

Read the quote against these points and resolve differences before booking.

  • Are the inventory, locations and access details correct?
  • Are requested services and tasks you will handle yourself clearly listed?
  • Are the price, tax treatment and any separate charges understandable?
  • Are the timing arrangements and contacts clear?
  • Does the offer explain the scope and conditions behind the price?
  • Are the relevant contractual terms available and your questions answered?

Understand estimates and fixed prices

An initial estimate gives an indication based on the information available. A fixed-price offer covers a defined scope under agreed conditions. Read the description of the job as carefully as the amount.

Tell Smoover before moving day if more items are added or dates and access change. The effect on the agreed job can then be reviewed.

Start your moving enquiry

Enter your pickup and destination. In the next step, add the inventory and services you need. Mark missing details as open questions rather than inventing quantities or measurements.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a complete inventory already?

A complete list helps with assessment. Note missing or uncertain details so they can be discussed during planning.

Will I receive an instant binding price?

The first step starts an enquiry. An accurate offer requires inventory, access, timing and service details; locations alone do not establish a binding total.

Can I compare several quotes?

Yes. Give providers the same inventory and requirements, and compare the scope and conditions as well as the price.

What if my move changes?

Report changes before the move. Additional items, new dates or different access can affect the work and agreement.
