At around 2,000 km or more, the drive is the largest part of the price. Volume matters too, because a 2-bed flat needs a bigger truck than a studio, and access in Madrid adds time where the truck can’t stop close to the door.
The Madrid street permit, packing and furniture assembly are added to your offer only if they are needed or booked.
Example: a 2-bed flat from Hamburg to Madrid
A family moves a 2-bed flat of about 20 m³ from Hamburg to Chamberí. The truck is over 3.5 t, so Madrid requires a street-occupation permit for the loading space. This is a worked example based on our starting prices, not a completed customer move.
The city fee for the permit comes on top of the moving price. For a 12-metre space on one day, that is €60.52 plus €6.96.

Germany to Madrid at a glance
The drive takes several days, but the paperwork is light: Spain is in the EU, so there is no customs on this route.

Street permit, low-emission zone and the city centre
In Madrid, the truck needs a legal place to stop close to your door. We check your address before we confirm the plan.
Street-occupation permit
For vehicles over 3.5 t or with a furniture lift, the city issues a temporary permit to occupy the street for a move. Apply at least 20 calendar days ahead; we submit it once your date is fixed.
City fee
In 2026 the permit costs €60.52 plus €0.58 per metre and day. It is a city fee on top of the moving price.
Low-emission zone
Madrid’s low-emission zone (ZBE) covers the whole city and applies to foreign vehicles too. We plan with a vehicle that meets the rules for your address.
Distrito Centro
The central district is a stricter zone where only vehicles with the 0 Emisiones, ECO or C label may enter. Removals get access through the street permit, and foreign-registered vehicles must be registered with the city in advance.
Padrón, NIE and EU registration certificate
Padrón
Everyone living in Spain must register on the municipal register (empadronamiento). In Madrid you apply online with an electronic ID, or in person by appointment.
EU registration certificate
If you stay longer than three months, apply within three months of arriving at an immigration office or police station. The certificate includes your NIE, the foreigner ID number, and is issued on the spot.
No customs
Household goods from Germany need no customs declaration, because Germany and Spain are both in the EU single market.
