A studio move starts at €2,350 from Munich to Barcelona and €3,000 from Munich to Madrid, including VAT. From Berlin, a studio to Barcelona starts at €2,800, a 2-bed flat to Madrid at €5,450. Your fixed price follows from your inventory, access at both addresses and the services you book.

At roughly 1,450 to 2,350 km, Spain is one of the longest moves within the EU, so distance and days on the road make up a large part of the price. Clearing out before the move pays off more than usual here.
The loading permit in Spain, packing and furniture assembly are added to your offer only if they are needed or booked.
Example: a 1-bed flat from Hamburg to Barcelona
A couple moves a 1-bed flat of about 13 m³ from Hamburg to Barcelona. There is no free loading space on the street of the new flat, so the truck needs a moving permit from the city. This is a worked example based on our starting prices, not a completed customer move.
The city fees for the permit come on top of the moving price.

Germany to Spain at a glance
Spain is in the EU, so there is no customs. What needs planning is the loading space at your new home, the low-emission zones of the big cities and registering locally.
- Distance:about 1,470 km from Munich to Barcelona (via France) and 1,990 km to Madrid; about 1,870 km from Berlin and 1,800 km from Hamburg to Barcelona.
- Collection to delivery:three to four days, depending on the start city and access.
- Tolls:most French motorways are tolled; the AP-7 from La Jonquera to Barcelona has been toll-free since 2021.
- Truck rules:weekend driving bans in Germany and France only apply to trucks over 7.5 t, so our moving trucks of up to 7.5 t are not affected.
- Registration:register on your town’s Padrón; if you stay longer than three months, get the EU registration certificate with your NIE.
- Customs:none: household goods from Germany need no customs formalities.
Loading permits in Madrid and Barcelona
Free space in front of the door is rare in Spanish city centres. We check both addresses and apply for the permits before we confirm your date.
Madrid: street permit
For moves with vehicles over 3.5 t or with a furniture lift, the Ayuntamiento issues a temporary permit to use the street. It must be requested at least 20 calendar days ahead; in 2026 it costs €60.52 plus €0.58 per metre per day.
Madrid: low-emission zone and centre
The low-emission zone covers the whole city and also applies to foreign vehicles. For the Distrito Centro, we register our truck with the city in advance.
Barcelona: moving permit
For professional moves, the Ajuntament issues a permit that reserves a loading space and signposts it in advance. An occupation fee and a processing fee apply.
Barcelona: ZBE low-emission zone
Foreign-registered vehicles must be entered in the metropolitan area’s (AMB) low-emission zone register before driving in. We do this for our vehicle.
When you leave Germany, a no-parking zone keeps space free for the truck. Allow enough time: Berlin takes about four weeks to process it, in Hamburg you apply at least two weeks ahead, and Munich allows about ten working days.
Padrón, NIE and registering as an EU citizen
Register on the Padrón
Registering on your town’s population register (empadronamiento) is compulsory for everyone living in Spain. In Madrid you can do it online with an electronic ID, or in person by appointment.
EU registration certificate with NIE
If you stay longer than three months, apply for the Certificado de Registro de Ciudadano de la UE within three months of arriving, at an immigration office or police station. It includes your NIE and is issued on the spot.
Deregistering in Germany
If you move abroad and keep no home in Germany, deregister at the registration office within two weeks of moving out.
No customs
Household goods from Germany need no customs declaration, because Germany and Spain are both in the EU single market.
Packing, furniture assembly and practical extras
Pack your own boxes and leave the heavy furniture to the team, or hand over the whole household while you deal with everything else. Each service is agreed and priced in your fixed-price offer.
Packing and unpacking

Furniture dismantling and assembly
We dismantle wardrobes, beds and tables before loading and rebuild them in Spain. New IKEA furniture can be assembled at the new home too.
Large TVs and valuable pieces

Temporary storage
If your new home in Spain isn’t ready when you have to leave, we store your belongings and deliver later. Storage period and redelivery are agreed in your offer.
Insurance

Leaving your old flat
Where available, add move-out painting and final cleaning for the days after collection, so you can hand back the keys without organising a second company.
How your move to Spain works

- Permits and access.We apply for the no-parking zone in Germany and the loading permit in Spain, and confirm stairs, lift and loading point at both addresses.
- Collection in Germany.The team carries out the agreed packing and dismantling, protects your furniture and loads the vehicle.
- Delivery in Spain.Three to four days later we unload, place the furniture in the rooms you choose and reassemble what was taken apart. Someone needs to be there to let the team in.
Keep passports, keys, medication and everything for the first few days with you, not in the truck.

Which route does the truck take?
To Barcelona we drive through France and take the toll-free AP-7 from La Jonquera; to Madrid we usually cross at Irún. We avoid Switzerland, where household goods would need a customs transit procedure.
Do I pay customs on my household goods?
No. Germany and Spain are both in the EU, so household goods cross the borders without customs formalities.
