Distance matters less than you might think on this route: most of France is one to two days from Germany. Access at the new address, such as tight staircases in older Paris buildings, often decides the effort.
City parking permits, packing and furniture assembly are added to your offer only if they are needed or booked.
Example: a studio from Munich to Lyon
A single person moves a studio of about 8 m³ from Munich to Lyon. The city reserves a 20-metre parking space for the truck and puts up the no-parking signs itself. This is a worked example based on our starting prices, not a completed customer move.

Germany to France at a glance
France is in the EU, so there is no customs. What needs planning are parking permits and the low-emission zones in the big cities.

Parking permits and low-emission zones in Paris and Lyon
French cities control street space and older vehicles closely. We check your address before we confirm the plan.
Paris: parking permit
The City of Paris issues a temporary permit for a move; apply at least 15 days ahead. It costs €17 to €90 depending on vehicle size, duration and location.
Paris: low-emission zone
Inside the A86 ring, Crit’Air 3, 4 and 5 and unclassified vehicles are banned during the day. We plan with a vehicle that meets the rules.
Lyon: parking reservation
The city reserves space for the truck and puts up the signs. Book at least one week ahead; 20 metres for one to two days cost €69.
Lyon: ZFE and Presqu’île
Lyon’s low-emission zone applies around the clock. On the Presqu’île, access is open until 13:00; after that, vehicles must be registered in advance.
Registration, Crit’Air and your car
No residence registration
EU citizens don’t need a residence permit in France and don’t have to register with the authorities after three months.
Crit’Air sticker for your car
If you drive your own car into a French low-emission zone, it needs a Crit’Air sticker too. It costs €5.11 and arrives by post in about 10 working days.
Registering your car
If you settle in France with your own car, it has to be registered in France within one month.
No customs
Household goods from Germany need no customs declaration, because Germany and France are both in the EU single market.
