HOME MOVING
Home moves: bring your belongings with you
Moving a few pieces of furniture or your whole household? Request your home move with Smoover and choose which jobs you would like help with. The furniture and boxes, access at both homes and any requested packing or assembly determine the scope of your move.

Which jobs will you do yourself?
You may want to pack your own boxes and request help with furniture transport. If you also need packing or furniture assembly, include those jobs in your enquiry. The quote can then describe the move you need, rather than just the distance.
List unusual items individually. A large mirror, glass cabinet or bulky sofa needs different preparation from sealed boxes. Note its dimensions, material and any known access difficulties.

Prepare it yourself or request help?
Use these questions to divide the work and establish what will be ready by collection.
- Boxes: can you pack and distribute their weight yourself, or would packing help be useful?
- Furniture: which pieces fit through the access route assembled and which need dismantling?
- Fragile items: what protection is available and what needs discussing?
- Property handover: will you handle cleaning or request an additional service?
- Time: which tasks can you realistically finish around work, family and key handover?
Build an inventory that is useful for planning
List furniture room by room and add the expected boxes. For furniture that comes apart, state who should dismantle and reassemble it. Include the cellar, garage and balcony; mark anything staying in the old home.
Your first box count can be an estimate. Label it as one and report changes before the move. Photographs are particularly useful for unusual dimensions and delicate surfaces.
Label packed boxes by destination room. Keep keys, documents, medication and first-night essentials in a separate bag.
Will the furniture fit through both homes?
Check the full route for your largest pieces: apartment door, corridor, stair landing, lift and building entrance. A lift helps only if the furniture fits inside and you can use it on moving day.
Describe the route from the vehicle to the entrance too. Is there a courtyard, a flight of steps or a restricted loading time? Check the same details at the new home. Photographs and measurements are more useful than simply calling access straightforward.
What affects the price of your home move?
The price reflects the load, distance and work at both properties. A full cellar, a long carry or agreed assembly can change the work involved even when the floor area stays the same.
Compare more than the final total. Check that quotes describe the same furniture, floors, carrying distances and extra jobs. Report changes to belongings or access before moving day so the agreed job matches the actual move.
Moving day: clear access and clear room labels
Keep walking routes clear and identify the items to be moved. Have a reachable contact who can answer loading questions. At the destination, room labels on boxes and a furniture layout prepared in advance help with placement. Check that agreed work has been completed and raise any outstanding questions before finishing the handover.
Request your home moving quote
Share pickup, destination and preferred dates. You can request a move within the same city. If you are moving abroad, include the country and allow for the preparation relevant to that route.
Frequently asked questions
Can I move within the same city?+
Yes. Short-distance moves can be requested too; inventory, access and services still matter for planning.
Do I have to pack the boxes myself?+
You can request packing or agree to prepare items yourself. The quote specifies the included work.
What should I tell Smoover about the lift?+
Give the floor and explain whether large furniture fits. Dimensions or photos help describe tight access.
Can I add furniture shortly before the move?+
Tell us as early as possible. Extra items can affect vehicle space, work and the offer, and should be agreed before the move.
